A Mee Maw who Runs

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've posted! I totally intended on posting every single night this week but it just didn't happen. Everytime I picked up my laptop and logged in, I got sidetracked reading all of your blogs and well, you're bloggers, you know how it goes. You'd think since it's been so long that I'd have a million and one exciting things to report but - not a chance.

Did I tell you I started running again? I'm on my 3rd week of Couch to 5K in 9 weeks. I ran my first 5K ever in December of '08. I did one more right after that and pretty much never ran again. Before when I ran, I stuck to the track or the treadmill. I didn't love it because it was so boring. People would tell me to run on trails or sidewalks but I was obsessed with knowing exactly how many laps I was running and just in case you don't know this about me, but I'm not big on change.

This time though, Hubs convinced me to run on the sidewalks. We live really close to this awesome area in Trussville where sidewalks abound, beautiful flowers are blooming, and people actually smile and wave when I run by. LOVE IT! I also started downloading books to my MP3 to listen to while I run. Books are something I'm passionate about so it's like a prize to get to go running. I know! Crazy!

I can't tell you how glad I am that tomorrow's Friday. I have a very exciting house guest coming tomorrow night (more on that in a future post) AND I'm getting my hair done Saturday! I'm in desperate need of color. Pretty soon people are gonna start saying my hair is silver instead of dark brown and I'll be answering to Mee Maw.

Catching Up

I just got home from being out of town for work (just a day trip) and am beat. Does driving long distances make ya'll just feel tired? I feel like I do after I keep the nursery at church on Sundays! Anyway, it was a great trip. It's nice when you get positive feedback from a client.

You just don't know how excited I was when I got home and realized my beloved Yankees are on TV tonight! Woo hoo!!! I plan on sitting my rear in my chair and enjoying approximately 3 hours of good TV. Not only do I get to see my Jeter baby, but Petitte is pitching and that's just sheer eye-candy.

Jeter                     Petitte

It's been so busy this week that I haven't been able to post about my weight loss results from my self-imposed 20 Pounds N 20 Weeks challenge. I lost 1.2 last week and was .4 away from reaching my goal of having lost 3 pounds by this past Saturday.

I feel good though and am just keeping on keeping on. I started running again last week and hope to be able to do a 5K by the end of May.

Oh! One more thing. Our ironing board has pretty much been setup in our bedroom for about um... 5 years. We just don't have a good place to store it that's easily accessible. Look at what my sweet Hubs did! He hung up one of those iron/ironing board holder thingies for me!

And my heart is happy.

Do You Remember Pac-Man and Simon?

I know I said I was going to post about sports this week but I didn't get a chance to get over to my parent's house and get the pictures. I was looking through some of my old boxes to see if I could find some and look what I found! Do you remember Pac-Man and Simon?? I got these for Christmas back in middle shool. I wish  knew how many hours I spent playing these games. The wear and tear is definitely evident!

What were your favorite games growing up?
