R.I.P. to my Mole AND GIVEWAY WINNER

Yesterday morning I was able to leisurely get ready for work because I had to wait around for the bug lady to show up. I laid in bed too long (got caught up in a book) and didn't realize the time until about 10 minutes before she was supposed to be here. I decided to jump in the shower and get that done before she arrived.

I was hurrying and before I realized it, I had started shaving my legs. Habit, I guess. I really started hurrying then and before I knew it, I had SHAVED A MOLE OFF MY LEG! I felt the cut and then the sting. Oh the wretched sting! I  couldn't tell how bad it was at first because of all the shave gel so I went ahead and started rinsing the conditioner out of my hair. When I looked down again I saw blood running like a river down my leg. And then I heard the doorbell. That bug lady - she's got great timing.

I slapped my washcloth on it and applied pressure (I didn't watch ER all those years for nothin'.) I hobbled to the door, let her in, and spent the next few minutes trying to get it to stop bleeding long enough to get a bandaid on it. I'm not sure why, but I didn't get ANY SYMPATHY WHATSOEVER from the bug lady.

I had my whole night planned - several ways I could milk my injury with Jay. And do you know that stinker made plans to go watch the Auburn game with some friends!!! I propped my leg up on the ottomon all night anyway and pretended there was someone there who cared.

Now, for the important news! The winner of the personalized lap desk from The Southern Belle Boutique is

Rebekah

from In the Heart of Our Home!!! Congratulations Rebekah! Leave me a comment or email me and let me know which desk you would like to have and with what name/initials!

TGIF and a Giveaway Winner

I don't think there's ever been a Friday where I felt it was more appropriate to say T.G.I.F. I think work mentally drained my brain so much that all that's left is a mountain of noodles. And if that wasn't enough, I had to go buy groceries after work tonight - in the cold - in the rain.

I'm not sure if I've ever told you, but I HATE buying groceries. Before Publix blessedly came into my life, I was almost to the point that we were going to have to eat every meal out or go on Jenni Craig so they would deliver to the front door.

Normally, I would have left work, considered the cold and the rain and driven my rumpus right home. But alas, I had already spent a considerable amount of time on my list and my coupons and some of them were expiring today. (By the way, I saved $20 with my coupons!) By the time I was all done, I was exhausted and a little shaky from some serious hunger. Thankfully, this sweet little angel of a boy took my groceries to my car and unloaded them for me.

Unfortunately, there was no sweet angel of a hubby at home to unload them for me because I'm flying solo tonight. Jay went to some type of Mixed Martial Arts thing with some buddies. After I unloaded everything and put it away, I popped a Kashi pizza in the oven and put my jammies in the dryer for about 5 minutes so they would be nice and toasty when I put them on.

Now my belly's full, I'm warm and comfy in my jammies and ready to announce the winner of my Valentine's Giveaway! The winner of these beautiful bracelets from Bella Regali is....

Congratulations Stacy! Shoot me an email with your address and I'll get these out to you pronto!

It's GIVEAWAY Time

I can't believe it's already the Eve of February! Hello... 1/12th of our year is gone!

I'm sure everyone is like me and starting to see reminders of Valentine's Day everywhere you go. Hearts and Cupids in store windows, jewelry commercials and candy beckoning me from the store aisles! Let's face it, Valentine's Day can be the best day of your life, the worst day of your life, a huge deal or you forget about it completely. It all depends on your "situation". And I think we can all agree that regardless of your situation, everyone deserves a little something for V-Day.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered the cutest earrings from Stephanie's lovely Etsy Shop, BellaRegali. Aren't they pretty? The picture doesn't do them justice.

At the same time I ordered these earrings, I ordered these beautiful bracelets. (Again, the picture doesn't do them justice.) I thought they would be perfect for a Valentine's Day GIVEAWAY! (Edited to add: The bracelets are the GIVEAWAY. The earrings are all mine and they have been happily hanging on my earlobes since I got them!)

I mean, who wouldn't want to get a V-Day gift from someone they "met" on the internet? (Also, if you're a guy, this could save you some serious shopping time.) It's a win-win. All you have to do is leave me a comment letting me know your plans for VDay. I'll be randomly selecting a winner Friday night, February 6th!

Lovin' My Man

This is a special post because it's my 200th. Can you believe it??? I felt like this post should be about something meaningful, not just the mindless drivel that you usually see here. I thought long and hard (about 5 minutes) and decided that I can't think of anything better to post about than my man.

Have I told ya'll how cute he is? Oh, he is. He's got the cutest dimples, one on each cheek and one on his chin. Don't even get me started on his blue eyes. And, don't tell him I said so, but he's quite funny. I could go on and on, but just in case he reads this, I don't want to give him the big head.

Time with your honey is so important. All kinds of things can interfere with that happening - lack of money, no babysitter, time, etc. I may not be able to help you with time or a babysitter, but maybe I can help with the money part by way of ...

A 200th post GIVEAWAY!

How about dinner and a movie? The winner of this giveaway will receive a $25 giftcard to Applebees....

and 2 movie tickets to Regal Cinemas.

All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment telling me one great thing about your honey. The winner will be randomly chosen and posted Wednesday night. Good luck and thank you SO MUCH for reading about my real life, one post at a time!

Humiliation Deserves a Prize

Everytime I go to the beach, I'm reminded of a time that I was there laying out with two friends. We were in high school and just like any teenagers, we felt the need to soak up as much sun as possible. Of course, we wanted the tan but more than that, we desperately wanted to meet some guys.

(I mean, everybody's seen the beginning of Grease, right? Aren't you supposed to find love at the beach???)

We had a good setup, all lined up in a row, radio on... you know the drill. Anyway, after a while we all looked up to see if it was starting to rain. All three of us felt the raindrops on our tummies at the same time. Well, no rain and no raindrops - just a bird that felt the need to relieve himself right as he flew over us. (Kerrie and Kremsa, do ya'll think about that everytime you go to the beach?)

Nothing like a little bird poop on your belly to make you feel like love is just around the corner.

I really don't consider that my most embarrassing moment at the beach though. I think this next little gem will take that prize. Kerrie and I went to the beach with her parents. I think we were probably in the 9th grade. We had been floating on our floats out in ocean (yes, there used to be a time that I actually got in the ocean) and before we knew it, we had gotten out too far.

It was a little tough getting back - the waves kept pulling me under. But I perservered, minus my float, and made my way back to the beach where Kerrie's parents were. As I walked up Kerrie's Dad said, "Hey Jill. Your boob is hanging out." Lovely.

So in honor of my humiliation, I'm having my first ever GIVEAWAY!!! I saw this bag at the beach and just knew that some of you out there in bloggy world would love it as much as I do.

Here's what you can do to enter: (Edited! You don't have to do all 3. These are just 3 separate ways to enter - You can do 1, 2 or all 3!)

1. Leave a comment telling me how much you would loooove to win this bag.

2. Blog about this giveaway and then come back and leave me a comment letting me know.

3. Write your own humiliating beach story on your blog and then come back over and leave a comment that you did.

I'll post the winner Thursday night! Love ya'll!!!
