Twice as "SNICE"

It's hard to believe, but I'm on my second snow/ice (aka SNICE) day. I went to bed Sunday night in Alabama but it appears I've woken up the past two mornings up North! Of course it only appears that way. All I have to do is turn on the TV and see all-day coverage of how we're in a "state of emergency" when we have a couple of inches of snow and I know I'm right where I'm supposed to be.

And if there was even a smidgen of doubt left after that, I just needed to keep the TV on or check Facebook and check out the 1,893,548 times I heard or read War Eagle or Roll Ducks Roll. Don't get me wrong. I'm proud of our Auburn Tigers and their National Championship win. I even sported some Auburn sweatpants yesterday (a gift from a friend for Christmas).

(That gasp you just heard was my Mama.) I'm just not a football fan. I can only devote so much brain power and excitement to sports and my beloved Yankees got it all.

So, it's another day at home. Hubs went on into work. I think the excitement of driving his work truck with chains on the tires was just too much. I'm choosing to believe that over the possibility that he didn't want to hang out with me for one more day. Surely it's not because I made him watch Steel Magnolias, hmmm?

I'm gonna get in the kitchen in a few minutes and see what I can cook good for supper the rest of the week with things I already have in the freezer and/or pantry. It's a challenge from Leanna over at Thoughts and Whatnots. Who knows? This might be my year for cooking!

You Can Quote Me

All I have to say is BASEBALL Playoffs baby! I am absolutely loving that my Yanks are on TV every night. It's like a little treat for working all day.

I got my hair cut last night - about 2 inches. My niece is going to the Xcell Academy in Hoover and it tickles me pink to have someone who does hair in the family. The best part of her going to Xcell is that a haircut is only $10. Oh yes - you read that right - TEN DOLLARS!!!

Sometimes I wish I had gone to school to do hair. I would want a shop like Truvy's in Steel Magnolias. I mean, how fun would that be??? I watched Steel Magnolias not too long ago and I really do think that might be my favorite movie of all time. I laughed. I cried. I laughed again. Ouiser has the best quotes EVER! Here are a few of my favorites.

" I do not see plays, because I can nap at home for free. And I don't see movies 'cause they're trash, and they got nothin' but naked people in 'em! And I don't read books, 'cause if they're any good, they're gonna make 'em into a miniseries."

"This is it, I've found it, I'm in hell."

"I'm not as sweet as I used to be."

"You are a pig from hell."

"I'm not crazy, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years!"

"Oh! He's a real gentleman! I bet he takes the dishes out of the sink before he PEES in it!"

"He is a boil on the butt of humanity!"

Please tell me y'all love it as much as I do! OK, that's it. I'm gonna go have to watch it again - right after baseball's over.
