Leap Frogs

Sister brought the kids by the office late this afternoon which is always a JOY! This is funny - Abbie was doing this weird hop thing which started this conversion:

Me: "Abbie, what are you doing?"
Abbie: "Hopping like a frog."
Me: "Hmmm"
Abbie: "You know Aunt Jill, Matthew is the best hopper in our family."
Me: Astonishment that anyone would know who the best hopper in their family is.

Abbie proceeded to have Matt demonstrate his hopping abilities. It was quite impressive. It looked like a killer cardio/leg workout. I just hope Gym Trainer never sees that because I'm sure that would be next on his list for me.

Nothing much new to report. All's quiet on the homefront. Hubby and I are going to dine on Chick-Fil-A as we watch The Biggest Loser. Love Ya'll!

Bloggin Madness!

Oh my word! I made the mistake of checking Sister's blog before doing this post and she had posted this:

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

I got sucked in. I entered for a TON of stuff!!! Oh please, please, please let me win. I just LOVE a prize!

Side Note: I had a couple of people ask what the "popular restaurant" was where we ate yesterday. It was Jim N Nicks. I didn't want to write what it was because Kerrie would know that I had that Saturday night and AGAIN on Sunday. I know, I'm ashamed.

Oh! And I wanted to give a shout-out to Kim! I loved the Dust Buster - perfect gift!!!

Sunday Napping

I just woke up. After Church, we went to lunch with the V's. I don't get out of Church till about 12:30 every week since I work in the nursery and you know how it is waiting for everyone to get out of their classes/service.... No worries by me though - it gave me some extra time to cuddle baby C.

The downside to getting out so late is the HUNGER I feel by the time we leave. We ended up at a VERY popular restaurant in the big city of Trussville, had to wait 30 minutes and OH MY HUNGRY BELLY!!! You know how they say never go to the grocery store hungry? I should never go to a restaurant hungry. Wait, isn't that the point?

Anyway, I ate way too much and I thought my stomach was going to explode. The problem with that (besides the obvious) was that I had planned to go shopping for some new pants for work. I was busting out of the skirt I already had on so I didn't think my fragile ego could handle trying on pants. I ended up coming home, putting on some sweats with elastic and a sweatshirt, and falling asleep on the couch.

I don't feel too bad for taking a little nappie-poo this afternoon since I worked SOOOO hard yesterday CLEANING MY HOUSE. Yes, I'm back to cleaning the house - I no longer have someone come in. I typed myself up a list with each room and exactly what I needed to do in each one. It helps me to be organized that way and something about marking an item off my list makes me smile. I started around 8:30 and finally washed all the grit and grime away in a most wonderful shower at 3:30. My mind felt great about my accomplishment but my feet felt HORRIBLE. It finally hit me that I had been walking around all day in my ballerina slipper house shoes and my house is built on a CONCRETE SLAB! Owww....

Note: I moved Callie's litter box back to the laundry room. I just couldn't stand it being in my bathroom anymore. It remains to be seen what the outcome of that will be.

Here Comes the Groom...

Ya'll! I have some FUN news!!! Gym Trainer is going to let me nominate him for The Bachelor!!!! I am beyond excited. I already downloaded the application and told him I would be bringing my camera to Friday night's session to take pictures. (I'll post the pictures here in case any of you ladies are single and would like to get a jump start.) Can you imagine if he got picked and I got the inside scoop on the show!? I mean, what if he met the woman of his dreams and they got married! Do you think he would name his first baby girl after me? Or maybe free sessions for life???

I forgot to tell ya'll that I went to see BrideWars Saturday night. It was super cute and I highly recommend it for a silly night out with your girlfriends. It's rated PG so you don't have to worry about anything inappropriate.

Oh, and Sister, Mama gave me the talk about updating the blogs. I also got a it from K at Bunko Monday night. We'll just have to do better!

Hair Update

I got my hair fixed!!! J2 told me about a guy who did her hair last week. I called him up and made an appointment for Saturday. I got there at 11:30 and just 2 hours and 45 minutes later - I have brown hair again!!!! Whoever would have thought getting brown hair again would be so hard??

Here are some things that were said to me while I was there:

"Oh, your hair is not as bad as you said. I had nightmares all last night."
"Oh wait, it is as bad as you said."
"We're gonna have to use 3 colors on all of this just to get to a normal color."
"You gapped your bangs all up."
"Don't ever touch your bangs again."
"Don't ever color your hair again yourself."
"Your natural haircolor is no longer brown, it's gray."

Then!!! I went to the movies Saturday night with some girlfriends and one of them said, "Your hair looks so good! I'm so glad you got it fixed. I was sitting behind you in Church last Sunday and that was really not a good look for you."

Awww, I felt so pretty.

A Little of This and That

I just finished listening to our President's Farewell Address and ya'll I am still crying. I know that not everything he did was perfect, but it has been so good to know that for the last 8 years we've had a President who sought out the Lord for guidance in running our Country. I just can't imagine all the pressures he's had since 9/11. Oh what a wonderful speech! It sounds so good to hear the best things about our Country for a change.

Anyway, enough tears. A couple of people have asked me why in the world I don't heart my cats. In response to that, let me just give you a little email conversation between my sweet friend, A, from KY and me:

Okay, so I just read your blog and I am sad that you don’t heart your cats. Are they still indoor cats? Why don’t you heart them? What do they do that gets on your nerves? Imagine if you had a dog that you had to walk all the time and make arrangements for when you were out of town? I think that’s why I never want a dog. I am sure at some point, though, Hadley will want a puppy. Of course, we do have four outdoor cats. We did have six, but one died and another one disappeared.

Girl, the list is endless. They are indoor cats and they are wretched. One of them will not pee in the litter box. She will only pee on a puppy pee pad that sits NEXT TO THE LITTER BOX! I should buy stock in the pee pad company because I have spent a fortune on them. We have to change it out in the morning and when we get home from work and sometimes again before going to bed. The other one throws up every other minute AND pees on the rug in my bathroom. So, now I have another litter box in front of my nice big tub where I think she poops about a hundred times a day. AND THEN, she jumps up on my sink trailing her nasty poop litter and gets it everywhere. I feel like I’m living in filth. So, we do have to board them every time we go out of town because, really, who is going to come to my house and change out pee pads twice a day, scoop out litter boxes, and clean up cat vomit. Since you lost two, can I bring them to you???

Okay, now I understand why you don’t heart them. And, no, I do not want your peeing, vomiting cats! But, thanks! That is pure craziness! I have never even heard of a pee pad.

There you go - nuff said about that - for now anyway.

I know you've all probably seen this commerical a hundred times (if you're a TV junky like me) but it makes me laugh every single time!

The Perfect Diet for 2009

I got this email today from my friend, KV and it cracked me up!

Yesterday I was buying a large bag of Purina dog chow at Wal-Mart, for my dog. I was about to check out when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think, that I had an elephant? Since I had little else to do, on impulse and because I was feeling cantankerous, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time. On the bright side though, I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned me. I told her no; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to lick my butt and a car hit me. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack, he was laughing so hard! WAL-MART won't let me shop there anymore.

Haven't you wanted to say something like this before when you're in a bad mood and somebody asks you a STUPID question???

Confession Tuesday

Oh poor me, oh poor me. Feel sorry for me yet???? A few things going on at work this week and having to pull some late nights. (Don't worry, working late from home.) It's one of those weeks (I totally realize that it's only Tuesday and I have high hopes it will get better.) where every which-a-way I turn, my projects snowball. But sometimes, that's how it goes sometimes.

Ya'll, I got the sweetest card in the mail today from J2. Let me just say, I am so blessed to have her friendship. This card was so sweet, I thought I'd share it with you.

God Bless Your Day
A day of blessings filled to the brim,
a day of good things that come from Him.
A day of beauty, a day of grace,
a day of sunshine touching your face.
A day that keeps you in peace and rest,
a day that brings you all of God's best.

So, here's my Tuesday Confession. I don't heart my cats. They drive me absolutely crazy and oh how I wish I could go back almost 9 years and actually listen to Hubby when he strongly advised me to NOT get the cats. I'm would give you a list of about a 100 reasons why I don't heart my cats, but I've still got some work to do. Till next time!

Cooking Queen

Ya'll, I cooked twice this weekend. I know to the majority of you, that's not a big deal but it's HUGE for me. I cooked a breakfast casserole and biscuits last night for supper and THEN I put a roast in the crock pot this morning!!!! I love walking in from church and smelling roast. Mama used to make it lots on Sundays and it was such a good smell coming home. We had roast, green beans (courtesy of MC at work and by the way, they are SOOOO good!) and brown rice. I have decided to try and cook on the weekends since Hubby is having to work so many hours these days. Thankfully, I won't be cooking again for 6 more days so there's plenty of time to figure out what I'll do next. In fact, I would LOVE some suggestions for EASY (and I stress the word EASY) meals.

OK, enough about food. I would like to leave you with a little Office humor courtesy of Sister's hubby.

Pocket Full of Pictures

The kids were at the office this morning. I passed out the fun little find I found at The Dollar Tree yesterday. I promise Sister does take them to them dentist.

Abbie (she decided to smile pretty)

Me and Little Doodlum James

Me and Brother (I didn't realize how jacked up my bangs are until I looked at these pictures.)

And, how cute is this? James gave LK a hug before leaving.

Oh! MC at work wanted to see my latest Sips n Strokes masterpiece that I did New Year's Eve. I framed it and my Funky Tree and actually hung them up.

Jacked up Hair

Ya'll, Jay and I are watching are recorded "Judge Judy's" and no lie, there was a girl suing another girl for a "damaged hairdo". Can you believe that?? I mean, I've got some jacked up color but I would never dream of suing someone for it. Seriously, I have 4-toned hair right now. It's a mixture of dark brown, gray, copper penny red and blonde.

Anyway, I really don't have much to say. I met Mama at Cafe on Main for lunch and I had a terrific vegetable plate of turnip greens, cabbage and black-eyed peas. After we ate, we went next door to The Dollar General and got some good bargains on some Christmas clearance. Obviously, I'm just saying a bunch of blah, blah, blah. Love ya'll.

Confession Tuesday - Part 3

It was a pretty good day. I did the work thing, the workout thing, and now Hubby and I are doing our TV thing - watching The Biggest Loser. Ya'll it is such a good show! I love it that these people are willing to put it all on the line to get healthy. I have already teared up twice.

OK, confession time. Sunday, on the way to church, Hubby said, "You look so pretty." I turned my head to smile at him and he said, "Wait, I think you have a hair growing out of that mole." Please note: this was a mole on my face. Sure enough, HAIR GROWING OUT OF A MOLE ON MY FACE! I was very thankful for my long nails because I was able to pull that sucker right out of there.

Obviously, I have reached a point in my life where I have to worry about random hairs. I guess I'll have to do a face check every morning. I am obviously very thankful that Hubby told me.

Sunday, Sunday

What a wonderful Sunday afternoon with NUTHIN to do! Actually, there's tons to do but I'm not gonna do any of it. Church was really good this morning. The sermon was great and we had 4 sweet babies in the nursery. Here's some cute pictures of my friend K's little girl - Baby K. She is PRECIOUS!

No kidding - she was waving to me!

This was her first time in the horsey. She loved it!

Better git - lots of nuthin to do.

Sugar ain't so sweet so far...

Hubby and I are somewhat watching the Sugar Bowl and the Crimson Tide needs to get their little rears in gear! I am in no way a big football fan (as you can probably tell by the new pics and background). I feel like I should be since I was born Southern and all, but it's just not happenin'. I did get myself a cute Alabama shirt for the Alabama/Auburn game, but let's face it - it was really just an excuse to get something new.

Since I'm fairly new to the whole bloggin' thing, some of you may never have been privy to my Yankee's OBSESSION! You will be hearing more (oh so much more) about that ummm, about the end of March.

I hope everyone has had a super good year so far. Take it easy!
